A diversion plumbing system isinstalled in the laundy to send grey water to the garden from the washing machine.

A surge tank is used as a buffer beween the washing machine and the garden, as the average wachine machine pumpcan emit water faster than drippers can handle it.

The grey water travels from the surge tank to the garden via above-surface low density poly pipe andsubsequently directed to sub-surface drippers.

Effective

Sub-surface irrigation is extremely effective as it directs water to the plant root zone. As the water is emitted below the soil surface, run off and evaporation are avoided. Sub-surface irrigation uses about 15% of the water volume used with surface watering and achieves far superior results as the sub-surface remains permanently moist.
