Draining and Blocked Drains We use using the Rigid 1500 drain clearing machines to clear blockages fast and trim back tree roots. The procedure we usually follow: 1. First of all we need to do some investigation to discover where the blockage is some times the Sewer main is blocked. 2. In most blocked drains we need to find an entry point. This can be a yard gully, a vertical riser a boundary riser or shaft or we will need to dig to find a suitable entry point or remove a toilet pan and work from that point. 3. Once we have found an access point its time to use the machine most times we put the machine down the line twice once to clear the blockage and the second time to trim off any tree roots at the point where the roots are present we will work the cables back and forth to make sure they are all trimmed with larger pipes that is larger than 100mm, we will use varying size cutters to trim back the roots. 4. After we removing the cable putting the machinery away we will clean and disinfect the areas. Cameras and pressure jetting can also be done. Most blocked drains are caused by or brakes in the drainage pipes tree roots often get into through these weakness in the pipes expanding and creating bigger brakes and they can also get past a rubber ring seal in a clay pipe, another common cause is back fall the pipes running up hill a collapsed pipe section with a bow in it. As a rule we can locate broken pipes by using the drain clearing machine. We will use cameras only when absolutely necessary generally in the case of a pipewhich is under concrete or it is very deep in the ground. Electronic locaters and cameras can be used. Damaged sections of drains can also be replaced using Plastic pipes and fittings. We can also install a gully for a swimming pool or move a sewer line or gully for an extension or swimming pool. Pressure jets can also be used to clear blocked drains we will generally use this type of equipment on drainage systems which are over 120 feet in length, where access is difficult an example would be a plastic sewer where the line is under a concreted area or it is very deep and the only access only through a plastic gully. The pressure jets are very flexible and will go through tight bends that the drain clearing machine cannot. They are also good for very large pipes and stormwater lines pipes over 150 mm. |
